Research on radar platform discrimination based on azimuth and amplitude change rates of radar signals
Abstract
To solve the problem that target platforms cannot be discriminated when database matching fails in radar reconnaissance, this study leverages the differences in motion performance among radar platforms such as aircraft, ships, and shore-based facilities. Combining the radar equation and reconnaissance equation, a mathematical model of azimuth and amplitude change rates is derived theoretically. A decision threshold obtained through statistical analysis of the movement speeds of aircraft and ships is proposed, providing a reference for the automatic discrimination of radar platform types when database matching fails in radar reconnaissance.
