Research and implementation of watermarking algorithm for copyright protection of HEVC-coded video
Abstract
Facing the increasingly serious problem of illegal dissemination and piracy of video content, various video content service platforms embed invisible identification information by applying digital watermarking technology to realize the protection and tracking of video copyright. However, in practical application, the existing watermarking algorithms are mostly designed based on AVC/H.264 standard, which is difficult to adapt to the coding characteristics of HEVC/H.265, so that there are many limitations in robustness, embedding capacity and imperceptibility. In order to strengthen the effective copyright protection of HEVC encoded video, this paper proposes a new robust watermarking algorithm for HEVC encoded video. Experiments show that the whole algorithm uses the redundancy of inter-frame prediction of HEVC and the characteristics of low-frequency discrete cosine transform (DCT) coefficients to design a dynamic block embedding strategy to overcome the computational complexity. At the same time, combined with the stability of interframe coefficient difference and JND perception model, on the premise of ensuring the invisibility of watermarking, the resistance to compression and geometric attacks is improved, thus meeting the real-time transcoding and watermarking embedding requirements of HEVC HD video.
