Research on dynamic management and control for bus lane with dynamic intermittent priority in connected environment
Abstract
The bus priority strategy has been gradually advanced. With the continuous growth of private cars in cities, traffic congestion has become increasingly severe, and conflicts between buses and other vehicles have intensified on sharing dedicated lane resources. The emergence of intelligent connected vehicle technology provides new opportunities for improving dedicated lane traffic conditions. Research on the management and control methods of bus lanes under the application of connected buses improves traffic efficiency and reduce accidents in bus station influence areas. This research investigated the dynamic characteristics of buses during approaching and departing from station by collecting and conducting analysis trajectory data from bus stations. The research conducted a management and control model for Bus Lane with Dynamic Intermittent Priority, and set simulation verification on the model. Results show that bus lane with dynamic intermittent priority have strong applicability in intelligent connected environments with social vehicle densities ranging from 3600-5000 veh/h, bus densities ranging from 60-360 veh/h, and mixed intelligent vehicle presence. The result provides practical basis for formulating rules for connected bus approaches and departure from stations and developing dedicated lane management plans.
