Abstract

In the field of modern bridge engineering, the increasing complexity of structural systems has led to significant limitations in traditional single-modal sensing and monitoring technologies, which are unable to meet the stringent requirements for data integrity, accuracy, and timeliness in the full-lifecycle health monitoring of bridges. Multi-sensor fusion technology, with its capability of collaborative processing of heterogeneous sensing data, has become a key technical approach to achieve accurate assessment of bridge structural conditions. Taking a cross-sea bridge as the engineering background, this study systematically deploys various monitoring devices such as accelerometers, strain sensors, and Global Positioning System (GPS), and constructs a bridge health monitoring system based on multi-source data fusion. Through comparative analysis of monitoring results from single sensors and the fusion system, the significant effectiveness of multi-sensor fusion technology in improving monitoring accuracy and reducing the risk of misjudgment is quantitatively verified. The research results hold important theoretical value and practical guiding significance for improving the technical system of health monitoring for large bridges and optimizing maintenance decision-making mechanisms.
