Application research of distributed fiber optic temperature sensing in 3D-printed drugs
Abstract
As a revolutionary innovation in the pharmaceutical field, 3D-Printed drugs technology offers unprecedented possibilities for achieving personalized medication and designing complex dosage forms. However, during the printing production process, temperature is a critical parameter influencing material properties, drug stability, and final product quality. The traditional temperature sensing method is unable to comprehensively and monitor the three-dimensional temperature field distribution during printing in real time. This paper proposes the application of Distributed Fiber Optic Temperature Sensing ( DFOTS ) technology to the field of 3D-Printed drugs. Firstly, the urgent need for precise temperature control in 3D-Printed drugs is elucidated. Secondly, the temperature measurement principles of DFOTS technology are detailed. Subsequently, it focused on discussing the specific application solutions and test data analysis of DFOTS technology for real-time monitoring during the printing process. Finally, the advantages and challenges of integrating this technology are analyzed, and its future development trends are prospected. The research demonstrates that DFOTS, leveraging its unique advantages such as distributed sensing, high precision, and immunity to electromagnetic interference, is poised to become a key technology for enhancing process controllability and product quality consistency in 3D-Printed drugs, thereby facilitating its transition from laboratory research to industrial production.
