Modeling of RapidIO interconnect network digital model
Abstract
This paper constructs a digital mock-up system, the system is designed for the MPC8640D processor and TSI578 switch, utilizing register modeling and function calling to simulate inter-node communication. It constructs digital models of the RapidIO controller and switch, simulating their critical functions such as packet encapsulation, routing and forwarding, and transaction response. By importing the operating system, file system, and application binaries from the physical machine, the VxWorks system under the PowerPC architecture is successfully run on an x86-based host machine, achieving cross-architecture simulation and functional compatibility verification of the digital mock up. The experimental design encompasses verification of the boot process, hardware topology comparison, and simulation of multiprocessor communication scenarios. The results demonstrate that the digital model accurately reproduce the behavior of the RapidIO network. This modeling approach possesses strong universality, providing methodological support for software verification and communication modeling in complex embedded systems during the early design stages.
