Abstract

This study proposes a method for constructing an asymmetric-information board game field that can present different visual information to individual players while sharing a single physical game board. Conventional methods using lenticular lenses suffer from a severe ghosting problem due to viewpoint shift. To address this, we redesigned the lens shape to a triangular prism and fabricated a prototype using UV-curable resin. The board displays interlaced images where the corresponding viewpoint images are segmented into thin strips. Quantitative evaluation confirmed that the proposed method significantly suppresses ghosting by a factor of approximately 1/15 compared to the conventional method. Furthermore, to demonstrate the applicability of this technology, we implemented an interactive game system that dynamically generates and displays board images in real-time based on player input, utilizing the asymmetric information capability.
