Abstract

We have implemented a maze generation support system that utilizes user-drawn outlines provided by the maze designer. The core process involves generating a scalar field by summing three distinct types of scalar fields, derived from the contours of the designer’s illustration. Based on this resultant field, we draw contour lines and subsequently create a grid structure by drawing lines that intersect these contour lines. A dual graph is then constructed from this grid, and the final maze is generated using this graph. Additionally, we devised and implemented a method for combining overlapping illustrations into a single maze, and conducted verification tests on its efficacy.
