Design of a narrowband four-channel frequency-hopping signal converter based on DDS architecture
Abstract
This paper presents a four-channel narrowband frequency-hopping (FH) converter based on a Direct Digital Synthesis (DDS) architecture, designed to meet the demands for robust, multi-channel communication in complex electromagnetic environments that require multi-channel signal isolation. Experimental results show a local oscillator (LO) rejection of 76 dB, outperforming typical solutions which range between 68-72 dB, and a frequency switching time of 78.6 ms. The converter also maintains spurious suppression greater than 70 dB across all channels. These attributes, combined with stable multi-channel operation, confirm the converter's strong suitability for advanced frequency-hopping communication systems requiring high spectral purity and rapid agility.
