Abstract

Large eddy simulation in CFD numerical simulation is used to study the wind field characteristics of mountain canyons. A canyon model was established and reasonable boundary conditions were set. The distributions of mean wind speed and turbulence intensity inside the canyon were analyzed along the canyon height, longitudinal direction and transverse direction. The mean wind speed and turbulence intensity inside the canyon were compared with those of a Terrain B wind field in the Load Code for the Design of Building Structures, and the mean wind speed ratio and turbulence intensity ratio were obtained. The study shows that the wind field in mountain canyon is more different from the general flat wind field in the Load Code, and the mean wind speed has an accelerating effect and the turbulence intensity has a weakening effect compared with the Load Code.
