Research on latent failure analysis methods for civil aircraft FBW flight control system
Abstract
With the development of highly integrated and comprehensive technologies in civil aircraft systems, the design and development of fly-by-wire flight control system are becoming more complex. To meet the requirements of high reliability and high integrity, the FCS adopt a redundant system architecture, which also increases the complexity of the flight control computers. This architecture addresses the aforementioned issues but also introduces latent failures. A systematic approach has been proposed to address the FCS architecture to minimize latent failures within the system. Additionally, an assessment method for the acceptability of unavoidable latent failures in the system has been provided.
