Pressure distribution analysis of liquid film seal flow field in spiral groove
Abstract
To investigate the influence of operating parameters on the pressure characteristics of the liquid film lubricated helical groove flow field. It systematically examines the pressure distribution patterns under varying rotational speeds (5000-20000r/min) and inlet pressures (0.25-1 MPa). The research begins by establishing a 3D model of the helical groove geometry using ANSYS, followed by meshing and boundary condition configuration based on fluid dynamics principles. A suitable turbulence model is selected for numerical calculations. Post-processing functions are then utilized to generate pressure contour maps. Comparative analysis reveals how rotational speed affects pressure gradients and peak locations within the groove, while examining inlet pressure's mechanisms influencing overall pressure levels and distribution uniformity. Results demonstrate that: 1) Increasing rotational speed significantly amplifies radial pressure differences with pressure peaks shifting toward the outlet at a rate positively correlated with speed; 2) Elevated inlet pressure raises the overall pressure baseline. Through ANSYS simulations, this study establishes quantitative correlations between operational parameters and pressure distribution in helical grooves, providing valuable references for structural optimization and operational parameter control.
