High-integrity design for flight control modules in civil aircraft
Abstract
The high-integrity design of flight control modules for civil aircraft is a core technology in aviation safety. Its essence lies in ensuring the continuous and reliable operation of systems under complex failure scenarios through multidimensional comprehensive protection mechanisms. This paper systematically elaborates the high-integrity design methodology for flight control modules in civil aircraft. By employing key technologies such as triple heterogeneous redundant architecture design, lock-step computation with self-test functions, dissimilar design, and multi-layered data check mechanisms, common-mode failures are effectively mitigated, dynamic isolation of fault propagation is achieved, and the availability and high-integrity of flight control modules are enhanced. Furthermore, the development assurance process strictly adheres to the DO-178C/DO-254 standard system throughout the software and hardware development phases. Verification results from laboratory tests and flight tests demonstrate that this multi-dimensional high-integrity design effectively addresses potential common-mode failures and meets the safety requirements of civil aviation airworthiness regulations.
