Abstract

Pneumatic proportional valves are widely used in industrial automation, but their position control accuracy often fails to meet requirements due to system nonlinearity, hysteresis, and external disturbances. Traditional PID controllers typically employ fixed parameters, making them inflexible to system parameter variations. This paper proposes a Fuzzy PID control method for the SMC ITV2050-312N pneumatic proportional valve. A system model incorporating the force balance equation for the spool, the flow equation at the valve orifice, and the continuity equation is established and validated through simulation in MATLAB/Simulink. Results demonstrate that Fuzzy PID exhibits superior dynamic performance compared to conventional PID.
