Abstract

In this paper, a simulation model of grain growth process was established based on the three-dimensional cellular automaton method. In the model, the influences of parameters such as grain boundary curvature, undercooling, and anisotropy strength on the grain growth process were simultaneously considered, and anisotropy functions and anisotropy factors were introduced. It was found that the temperature gradient would change the morphology of grains, and a high temperature gradient would increase the growth rate of grains. Under the same temperature gradient, the distribution shape of the temperature field would affect the growth rate of grains, but not their morphology.
