Abstract

Residual oil hydrogenation represents a critical process in petroleum refining. As key equipment in this process, hightemperature, high-pressure plunger pumps directly influence the system's operational efficiency. This study addresses three essential technologies for such pumps: suppression of flow and pressure pulsations, prediction and mitigation of flowinduced wear, and intermittent motion control. First, a two-phase flow computational model is established for the plunger pump that incorporates the coupled effects of structure, motion, and flow, thereby elucidating the mechanism by which flow dynamics affect conveyance stability and enabling effective suppression of flow and pressure fluctuations. Second, a wall collision wear model is developed and integrated with particle motion parameters derived from two-phase flow computations to achieve wear prediction and assessment within the pump flow passage, providing guidance for wear prevention and mitigation strategies. Third, the influence of time-varying fluid forces on valve block kinematics is analyzed, leading to the implementation of active control for the intermittent motion of valve assemblies. These findings provide theoretical foundations and design guidelines for the domestic development and industrial application of high-performance plunger pumps.
