Wave crest reduction pre-distortion scheme based on direct limiting
Abstract
With the rapid advancement of wireless communication technique, the issue of a high Peak-to-Average Power Ratio (PAPR) in signals leading to equipment losses during signal modulation and transmission has become increasingly critical. Currently, digital pre-distortion technique (DPD) and crest factor reduction technique (CFR) are employed in combination to strike a balance between signal amplifier efficiency and linearization, aiming to mitigate power amplifier losses. In this study, we propose a novel limiting model, based on the direct limiting technique within the CFR algorithm. By substituting the functional characteristics of the logarithmic function into the model, we effectively reduce PAPR while simultaneously enhancing linearization, surpassing the capabilities of traditional limiting models. Through simulation, we validate the model's effectiveness from both PAPR reduction and linearization improvement perspectives. Furthermore, we investigate the model's impact on signals under various threshold ratios.
