The application of mathematical and algorithmic pathways in optimizing professional cluster evaluation system
Abstract
This paper investigates the algorithmic pathways and mathematical underpinnings of artificial intelligence (AI) in evaluating the effectiveness of professional cluster development within the modern vocational education system. By formalizing professional cluster knowledge graphs as directed graphs and applying graph-theoretic centrality measures, the study quantifies cluster positioning in relation to industrial networks. Natural language processing models, particularly pre-trained language representations, are employed to compute semantic similarity between policy objectives and cluster goals through cosine similarity in high-dimensional vector spaces. Machine learning algorithms such as XGBoost optimize prediction tasks by minimizing regularized objective functions, while reinforcement learning is modeled through Markov Decision Processes (MDPs) and optimized using Deep Q-Networks (DQNs) and policy gradient methods. This mathematically grounded framework addresses the subjectivity and static deficiencies of traditional evaluation methods by introducing quantifiable indicators, dynamic optimization, and adaptive decision-making. The findings demonstrate that AI algorithms not only overcome the technical bottlenecks of conventional evaluation systems but also provide robust, generalizable models for intelligent evaluation, offering both theoretical foundations and practical computational tools for advancing the modernization of vocational education.
