Abstract

The Research Article “Invasion impacts in terrestrial ecosystems: Global patterns and predictors” by M. P. Thakur et al. (23 October 2025, 10.1126/science.adq3101) reported a global meta-analysis of invasion impacts on the basis of 2223 effect sizes from 775 peer-reviewed studies. After publication, inconsistencies in the underlying database were brought to the authors’ attention, prompting a complete reaudit of all extracted data and a reanalysis of all meta-analytic models.
