Abstract

We start this book with some chapters on C++ language features. It is assumed here that the reader has already gone through a C++ course that covers the basics of control structures and object-oriented programming. Here we cover some topics in more detail, or topics that are not likely to be found in a first course. Throughout, our focus and our choice of topics will be on scientific computing: many topics are chosen for their appearance in later chapters.
