Abstract

In this part we will look at some topics that can be described as “software carpentry.” The term software carpentry is due to Greg Wilson (at the time of the University of Toronto) who wondered, “What should computer scientists teach to physical scientists and engineers?” It can roughly be described as the computing skills that scientists need to master to get more done in less time and with less pain.
