Luminescence spectroscopy of gold(III) dibromo dithiocarbamate complexes at variable pressure
Abstract
Luminescence properties of a wide variety of square-planar platinum(II) complexes have been reported and shown to be photochemically relevant. In contrast, isoelectronic gold(III) complexes have received much less attention. We report variable pressure luminescence spectra of gold(III) complexes with bromo and dithiocarbamato ligands. They show broad LMCT luminescence bands between 600 and 900 nm with pressure-induced shifts defined by metal-ligand bonding and intermolecular interactions.
