Stability of the pulsar J0348+0432 in f(R,T) gravity: Lower mass gap implications
Abstract
This study investigates the mass-radius evolution and stability of the slowly rotating anisotropic pulsar [Formula: see text] within the Krori–Barua spacetime in [Formula: see text] gravity. Rotational effects on stellar structure are examined using a modified Chaplygin gas equation of state with the linear form [Formula: see text]. The model supports the existence of supermassive neutron stars in the lower mass gap, consistent with NICER and gravitational-wave constraints and highlights the critical role of positive pressure anisotropy. Comparison with general relativity confirms physical consistency, stability and astrophysical viability.
