Characterization of 45∘/[001] Misorientation in Hot-Deformed Nd–Fe–B Magnets
Abstract
In this study, hot-deformed Nd–Fe–B magnets were successfully prepared by spark plasma sintering. The orientation texture of the grain boundary plane was then investigated, and the microstructure of the grain boundaries was observed using scanning electron microscopy and electron backscatter diffraction. The results show that the grain boundary plane exhibits a [Formula: see text] preferred misorientation angle. The [Formula: see text] boundary plane, in particular, favors a (250) oriented texture with a distinct tilt structure. The potential relationship between this texture and the magnetic properties was discussed, with [Formula: see text] used as a representative example.
