Abstract

The convergence of Artificial Intelligence (AI), cloud computing, and edge computing is reshaping the Internet of Things (IoT) ecosystem by overcoming critical challenges such as latency, scalability, resource management, and fault tolerance. Traditional cloud-centric models often struggle to meet the real-time requirements of IoT applications due to bandwidth limitations and high latency. This study examines how AI-driven strategies enhance orchestration across cloud– edge systems through improved task scheduling, predictive analytics, and adaptive resource allocation. The review also discusses emerging integration models—including hierarchical, collaborative, and federated approaches—that align the scalability of cloud infrastructures with the agility of edge devices.
