Silver Decorated Reduced Graphene Oxide/Stannous Sulfide Heterostructures for High-Performance Faradaic-Type Supercapacitors
Abstract
Stannous sulfide/silver decorated reduced graphene oxide heterostructures have been developed through hydrothermal route and applied as a supercapacitor electrode. The physico-chemical properties of the synthesized Ag-rGO/SnS composite were evaluated by crystallographic, electronic and spectroscopic measurements. Microscopic results displayed intercalation of faceted SnS sheets over the wrinkled Ag-rGO sheets. The Ag-rGO/SnS modified electrode achieved the maximum specific capacitance value of 847 F g −1 at 0.5 A g −1 current density. The solid-state symmetrical device exhibits the energy density of 22.04 Wh kg −1 and the power density of 1202 W kg −1 at 1.5 A g −1 current density. The GCD cycle test showed 86.7% capacity retention for the symmetrical device. The larger rate capability has been celebrated from the improved electrical conductivity of the Ag-rGO/SnS fabricated electrodes through redox reactions.
