Abstract

Glucocorticoids rapidly boost intestinal CFTR expression, function, and trafficking through SGK1 and link stress signaling to epithelial secretion and immune control. Deleting Sgk1 blocked glucocorticoid-driven CFTR activation and altered early immune cell recruitment, uncovering SGK1 as a critical regulator of intestinal adaptation to acute stress.
