(Mostly) Modal Musings on McCain’s Oeuvre
Abstract
Abstract This essay examines the overall strategy and structure of Kevin McCain’s proposed solutions to skeptical subjects, with some further application to the particular topic of external world skepticism. More specifically, I argue that his Phenomenal Explanationist account of propositional justification as the key to answering skeptical concerns runs into difficulty, especially when it comes to the justification of beliefs about necessary truths.
