Abstract

A new theridiosomatid species of the genus Wendilgarda Keyserling, 1886, W. guiyang Yu & Lin, sp. nov., is described from southwestern China. The species is diagnosed based on morphological characters, with supporting photographs and a distribution map provided. To aid in reliable species identification and phylogenetic placement, we sequenced three molecular markers for the species (mitochondrial COI and 16S; nuclear H3) from vouchered specimens. These molecular data unequivocally confirm the conspecificity of males and females and are made available for future systematic research.
