Abstract
the way in which the book is organized, and the direct style of writing, punctuated with several examples from recent history, certainly makes the text not only more manageable, but also informative. As I write, tensions are rising in the Middle East, as well as in Eastern Europe and war games are being played farther East, not to mention the longer lasting conflicts that tend to be overshadowed by new ones.In this context, Kwon's book is ultimately a call to hope: that postwar justice can be reimagined not only as a matter for states and international bodies but also as a task for grassroots Christian communities. In highlighting the role of these nonclassical actors, Kwon expands the conversation on just war theory and invites ethicists and practitioners alike to reconsider how Christian discipleship intersects with the pursuit of peace.
