Abstract

In August 2024, Liniker — a Black Brazilian transgender artist, singer, and songwriter — released her second album, Caju. In this album, she explores a variety of emotions drawn from her personal experiences, including her longing for affection and her desire to be recognized as human. The work takes listeners on a journey through diverse musical genres. This paper focuses on analyzing the poetic depth of her lyrics in conjunction with her lived experience as a trans woman in a Latin American context, addressing societal challenges but centering primarily on the theme of desire.
