Abstract

The lack of representativeness in clinical trials poses a barrier to achieving equitable access to treatments, which negatively affects overall health outcomes, further perpetuating health care inequities.[1][2][3] To ensure that the inferences drawn from clinical trials are applicable to the broadest population affected by the disease under study, it is essential that trials enroll and retain study population samples as representative of the affected populations as possible.[4][5][6][7][8]
