Abstract

Abstract The kinetics of the electrodeposition process of polyporphyrins based on substituted tetraphenylporphyrins (5-(4-aminophenyl)-10,15,20-triphenylporphyrin, 5,15-di(4-aminophenyl)-10,20-diphenylporphyrin, 5,10,15-tri(4-aminophenyl)-20-phenylporphyrin, and 5,10,15,20-tetrakis(4-aminophenyl)porphyrin, 5-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-10,15,20-triphenylporphyrin, 5,15-di(4-hydroxyphenyl)-10,20-diphenylporphyrin, 5,10,15-tri(4-hydroxyphenyl)-20-phenylporphyrin, 5,10,15,20-tetrakis(4-hydroxyphenyl)porphyrin) was investigated by the electrochemical quartz microbalance method. The effects of the nature and number of the substituents on the periphery of the macroheterocycle on the porphyrin electropolymerization process is considered. The electropolymerization was carried out in potentiodynamic and potentiostatic deposition modes. Based on the obtained data, it was concluded that the potentiodynamic precipitation mode is most effective for amino-substituted porphyrins in ethanol solution, with the exception of porphyrin 5,15-di(4-aminophenyl)-10,20-diphenylporphyrin, whereas for hydroxy-substituted porphyrins, the potentiostatic mode is effective, with the exception of 5,10,15-tri(4-hydroxyphenyl)-20-phenylporphyrin. The conductivity of the obtained polyporphyrins was estimated from the band gap. The presence of semiconductor properties of the films makes it possible to use them in various optoelectronic devices.
