Abstract

Membership in professional nursing organizations (PNOs) benefits novice and experienced nurses. One advantage of PNO participation is access to continuing education, which promotes the implementation of evidence-based practice (Bazinski & Wilson, 2023), ultimately improving the quality of nursing care. In addition to providing members with a shared sense of purpose, PNOs grant nurses a platform to engage with the community, affecting regional health care through advocacy and professional development (Bazinski & Wilson, 2023; Castaños & Bowden, 2024; Smith, 2024).
