Abstract

A comparison of efficacy outcomes from 2 different Bacillus Calmette-Guérin (BCG) strains for the treatment of non–muscle-invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC) found that the Tokyo-172 strain is noninferior to the standard-of-care TICE strain, according to data from the phase 3 SWOG S-1602 trial (LBA629). The results offer the possibility of another BCG therapy option and thus expanded treatment access for patients with NMIBC.
