Abstract

Patients with prostate cancer living outside of major geographic hubs have access to half as many prostate cancer clinical trials as those living in areas close to major medical centers, according to an analysis of data from over 850 active prostate cancer trials across more than 600 U.S. counties (Abstract 43). This finding illuminates an important health care disparity, as participating in clinical trials can mean receiving lifesaving therapy.
