Numerical representation of random fields
Abstract
Realistic, high-resolution representation of random variations in the propagation medium is a particularly important and challenging aspect of simulating wave propagation in the atmosphere, ocean, and other environments [ 504 ]. This chapter describes techniques for representing and synthesizing such random variations, with a particular focus on atmospheric turbulence.
