Abstract

The primary purpose of this chapter is to describe ray tracing methods for sound propagation in a moving medium, as based upon the equations developed in Part I of this book. This topic is the focus of section 12.3 . Prior to that section, however, some background is provided on sound levels ( section 12.1 ) and interactions of sound waves with the ground ( section 12.2 ). These topics are pertinent to the discussion of ray tracing as well as wave-based numerical methods in later chapters.
