Abstract

Our second theme within the ‘Care’ Section focuses on the central purpose of most veterinary activity: the treatment and care of animal patients. As we discussed in the introduction, this subject has been at the forefront of Veterinary Humanities, UK’s involvement in topical debate, because in recent years we have developed and championed the concept of contextualised care, as noted by many of this theme’s authors. The variety of these contributions, both in tone and context, underlines the flexibility and value of this approach.
