Abstract

No (hu)man (or veterinary professional) is an island. We all work within professional teams, interact with clients, students or customers of some kind, and live within wider societal networks and contexts. Consequently, every contribution in this book touches in some way on the interactions of veterinary professionals with others, and therefore could be said to inform this theme to varying extents. However, the chapters that we have grouped within this theme, although very varied in their subject matter and approach, are those that particularly consider positive, supportive, unexpected or evolving professional communities and relationships; we placed those that are particularly characterised by difficulty in Theme 7 instead.
