Neuro anaesthesia
Abstract
Technological and scientific advances in neuroscience and neurosurgery have resulted in a greater array of neurosurgical, neuroradiological, and diagnostic procedures. Along with these advances there has been significant expansion in the field of neuro anaesthesia. The increasing complexity of neurosurgical interventions requires an anaesthetist to have a sound grasp of management of neurosurgical patients and the management options available to them. In this chapter, we discuss the pertinent principles that will guide the delivery of safe neuro anaesthetic care across the most common neurosurgical procedures.
