Differential Rings
Abstract
The basics about a commutative differential ring, including the interpretation of derivations as homomorphisms to dual numbers. Basics used in subsequent chapters are covered, including differential ideals and derivations of polynomial rings. Differential modules are introduced and so are the differential structures on algebraic constructions with differential modules: homomorphism modules, duals, tensor products, and symmetric algebras. Also considered are the differential modules whose underlying module is a finitely generated free module and how such modules are given by matrices.
