Abstract

Looks at the classification of differential finitely generated projective modules over a differential commutative ring R. Of course, they are classified by isomorphism classes, and the isomorphism classes form a monoid under the operation induced from direct sum but the goal is something more manageable. Following some of the inspirations of K theory, the classification studied is the monoid which, basically, is the most general monoid (1) to which the monoid of isomorphism classes maps homomorphically; and (2) in which the isomorphism classes of all the modules tensored up from the ring of constants of R go to the identity.
