Abstract

Constructions of hybrid composites with organic and inorganic materials at various quantity levels have been regarded as versatile thermoelectric materials for the last decades. So, a lot of efforts have been paid to the progress of such compounds with better activity. The scientific community has shown a strong interest in working in the field of thermoelectric materials due to the high electrical conductivity of inorganic materials and their great potential to augment the thermoelectric performance by utilizing the high Seebeck coefficient, and low thermal conductivity of organic materials. The combination of organic and inorganic materials at the nanoscale can cause strong perturbation in the structural, electron, and phonon characteristics, providing a new mechanism to decouple electrical and thermal transport properties that are not attainable in their parent organic or inorganic forms. Considering the importance of this field, herein, we highlight the synthesis of various organic–inorganic thermoelectric hybrid materials with their thermoelectric properties. In addition, diverse thermoelectric properties and performance of various electronic devices are also explained such as thermal conductivity, electric transportation electronic band structures, and Seebeck coefficients of the hybrid thermoelectric materials.
