Organic-Inorganic Hybrid Materials for Electrochemical Supercapacitors
Abstract
The objective of this chapter is to present a thorough summary of the most recent advancements in the field of electrochemical energy storage with a particular emphasis on the sensible selection of electrode materials to enhance supercapacitor performance. Electrochemical supercapacitors have gained significant research attention due to their quick charge–discharge, long-term cycle stability, and exceptional power density. The combined use of organic and inorganic materials as the electroactive material in the supercapacitor can apply the synergistic effect of the two materials and further improve the electrochemical energy storage performance. The chapter will introduce various electroactive materials for supercapacitor applications, including metal–organic frameworks, conducting polymers and their nanocomposites, and carbon material-based nanocomposites. It will also provide researchers with a broad perspective on the electrochemical supercapacitor applications and facilitate further research and development in this field.
