Abstract

It is impossible to discuss concept art and design in general without discussing “The Brief”. The brief refers to the objectives and aims of what you are trying to achieve in the works you create. In most cases, when working in the creative sector you will be given a brief, by either the client or the art director overseeing the project. The brief that you receive can range wildly from one project to the next. Some project briefs are very specific with little room to move, and these will require you to work within quite tight constraints. Other briefs can be very vague and might require further conversations with the person leading the project for clarification. However, all the briefs you receive as a concept artist are about creating a visual design or artifact for a new or existing project.
