Sustainable Manufacturing with AIoT-Integrated B-Spline CFD Simulations
Abstract
In this chapter, we use computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and the basis spline (B-spline) collocation approach to look at potential solutions for heat transport problems. The B-spline collocation method offers a dependable and effective way to approximate partial differential equations (PDEs). The main goal of this chapter is to develop and apply B-spline-based solutions to improve the stability and accuracy of numerical schemes in CFD. We first give a summary of the theoretical framework for the B-spline collocation approach, discussing the construction and characteristics of B-spline basis functions. The method is then used to tackle a number of benchmark heat transfer issues, including convection-diffusion, steady state and transient conditions, and conditions pertaining to natural convection. These applications show how adaptable and powerful B-spline collocation is for modeling the complex dynamics of heat transfer and fluid movement. It also includes a comparison with other conventional numerical methods, such as the approaches using finite differences and finite elements. The study&s;s last section explores possible developments and future paths for integrating B-spline collocation techniques into commercial CFD software. The encouraging results suggest that B-spline collocation might prove to be a useful instrument in the design and optimization of heat transfer systems, improving computational effectiveness and predicting capacities in engineering applications.
