Abstract

Video steganography has gained significant attention in recent years due to its large storage capacity and greater flexibility for concealing secret information. This work presents a comprehensive review of video steganography techniques, categorized into spatial-domain, transform-domain, and compression-domain approaches. Each of these methods operates on different principles, offering unique advantages and limitations. To evaluate their effectiveness, key performance metrics such as hiding capacity, imperceptibility, and robustness are considered. The study further outlines the merits and drawbacks of these techniques while emphasizing the primary challenges of balancing imperceptibility, robustness, and payload capacity. In addition, the existing open issues in video steganography are discussed, providing insights into areas that require further research. The chapter also explores emerging future trends in the field, thereby serving as a useful reference for researchers in identifying potential research directions and formulating problem statements for advancing this domain.
