Abstract

In this digital era, people of every age use the internet to transfer multimedia information. Due to excessive information transmission through the web, the security of secret information is becoming challenging for users. Hidden data can be protected using some security mechanism; one such mechanism is steganography. Steganography embeds a secret message inside any cover file without exposing it to a third-party. Steganography tools can also be used to embed the hidden message. The proposed chapter explores four steganography tools used to embed secret information: text, image, audio, and video. The effectiveness of these tools is evaluated against different attacks, concealing capacity, and the quality of the stego-file. Among these tools, OpenPuff performs best in concealing capacity, robustness, visual quality of the stego file, handling of different file formats, and more.
