Secret Information Hiding in Images Using LSB and X-Box Method
Abstract
Due to the advancement of technology, the security of secret data is becoming a very challenging task for the users. Steganography hides the secret data in such a way that no one is aware of its existence. It helps in avoiding unauthorised access of the sensitive data. Cover file in this work is taken as image and secret information is taken as text. Least Significant Bit (LSB) method is utilized to hide the secret message along with the X-Box method. LSB is the simplest technique which works in spatial domain and it is known for concealing capacity. Because of its simplicity it is not considered more robust against image-processing attacks. For the improvement in its robustness authors utilized X-Box method. The images are taken in different format to validate the proposed work. The Peak Signal-to-Noise Ratio (PSNR) is calculated to check the visual quality of stego and its robustness.
